Hello… :mic check: 1-2-1-2:

Sit.Read.Enjoy.

Welcome to my first post. I have no idea what I am doing.

Life is short. Smile while you still have teeth.

Hi. Welcome. I have always wanted to start a blog, just never got around to it. Being in my final semester of my Master’s program, completely overwhelmed with school, work, and clinical hours – seems like the perfect time to start. Go figure.

Disclaimer: I cannot promise that I know what I am doing here, so that spices things up a bit.

I am a 30-something-year-old nurse and wife to an amazing man that I am lucky enough to call my husband. Together we have 3 beautiful furr-children, lovingly referred to as “The Golden Trio” by local pet stores and, despite popular belief, not all pit bulls are vicious beasts. We have made it our mission to dispel the negative stereotypes that have attached themselves to our favorite breed like a blood thirsty leach. Instead, we take every opportunity to educate others as to the true nature of our beasts beauties. We love to travel, camp – like actually CAMP, in a tent, without bathrooms, and baby wipes for showers, our ideal date day is perusing Costco, and we have a strange obsession with goats. Why am I telling you all of this? Well, when you see pictures of goats, dogs, jeeps, etc., or you read posts randomly explaining how exciting our day at Costco was, you will understand why.

Now, a little more about me (as if you didn’t get a good enough idea in that first paragraph). I have been a nurse for a short 3 years; however, I have seen my fair share of excitement. As cheesy as it sounds, I absolutely LOVE what I do and I could not imagine myself doing anything different. I began as a surgical nurse, migrated over to trauma for a year, then meandered over to the floor while I decided to go back for my Master’s degree. I am mere months away from graduating with my M.S.N (Master’s of Science in Nursing) with a focus on F.N.P (Family Nurse Practitioner) and I could not be more terrified ready. Senioritis is real folks, trust me. Considering I have been going to school without a break since 2013, when this journey all began, I am a little burned out.

So, sit back. Grab some coffee. Enjoy your break from adulting, and indulge in some well-deserved procrastination.
